Why Fabric Softeners Should Be Used

With all the steps in your laundry regimen, using fabric softener or conditioner should be one that you try to never skip. Adding a laundry softener to your rinse cycle provides many benefits, here are just a few of them:

When to Use Fabric Softeners

When should fabric softeners be used?

Use fabric softener whenever you want to have snuggly soft, comfortable and fresh clothes.

When to Add Fabric Softener:

Knowing the perfect time to add fabric softener to your laundry can make all the difference. For best results, add Snuggle during the rinse cycle to ensure that your clothes are left feeling soft and smelling fresh. Snuggle fabric softener is the perfect way to keep your clothes feeling cozy and comfortable after every wash.

When should I not use fabric softener?

There are certain fabrics that may not benefit from fabric softening. It is best not to use fabric conditioners on moisture-wicking activewear, water-resistant items, or clothing made of synthetic fibers.

Also, steer clear of using Snuggle on fluffier fabrics like fleece or terry cloth, as it can increase their flammability. And for children’s sleepwear or garments labeled as flame-resistant, it’s best to skip fabric softener altogether since it may reduce their flame resistance.

How to Use Fabric Softener in a Top Load Washer and Other Washing Machines

No matter what type of washing machine you have, using Snuggle® liquid fabric softener is simple. Just follow these quick steps to keep your laundry soft, fresh, and cuddly.

Top Load Washer (with Dispenser)

Wondering where to put fabric softener in a top load washer? If your machine has a built-in dispenser (usually in the center of the agitator), here’s how to use it:

  1. Measure the right amount of Snuggle® fabric softener using the cap.
  2. Pour it into the fabric softener dispenser.
  3. Start your wash cycle as usual and the washer will automatically release the fabric softener during the rinse cycle.

Pro tip: Always select a cycle with a deep rinse to ensure even distribution.

Top Load Washer (without Dispenser)

Can you put fabric softener directly into the washer? Yes, but timing matters.

  1. Wash your clothes as usual.
  2. When the rinse cycle begins, pause the machine.
  3. Pour the measured amount directly into the water, not on your clothes, to avoid staining.
  4. Resume the cycle and let the fabric softener do the rest.

Front Load Washer

Wondering where to put fabric softener in a front load washer? Look for the labeled compartment in your detergent drawer.

  1. Measure using the cap of your Snuggle® bottle.
  2. Pour into the fabric softener tray.
  3. Start your cycle and your washer will release the softener automatically during the rinse.

Automatic Dispensers

Some washers (both top and front load) have automatic dispensers built into the machine.

  1. Shake closed Snuggle® bottle. Open bottle and measure to desired line in cap.
  2. Locate the fabric softener dispenser and pour product into the dispenser of your washing machine. Do not pour directly on fabrics.
    • Large Load Fill to Line B
    • Medium Load Fill to line A (0.68 US fl oz)
  3. Add the softener before starting your load.
  4. The machine will release it at just the right time during the rinse cycle.

No need to pause or add anything mid-cycle. Just measure, pour, and go!
